Virtual Mediation Services

Transitions Mediation Center offers virtual mediation services to families and divorcing couples seeking a non-adversarial solution to their family law or divorce needs.

Why Virtual Mediation?

Virtual Mediation Services are available to clients who live at a distance from our office in Collingswood, NJ. There are many reasons families and couples may prefer online family mediation to successfully resolve their divorce and family issues:

  • Some divorcing couples tell us they feel more comfortable with online mediation at a distance from their exes – rather than in physical proximity.

  • Virtual mediation is also a solution for participants that no longer reside in the same area, like in long-distance divorces, or have conflicting or challenging schedules due to travel, work or child care.

  • Online family mediation can also accommodate multiple parties when children, parents or attorneys need to be present.

How Virtual Mediation Works

Our virtual mediation services allow our clients to mediate anywhere both people have access to Internet, video or tele-conference.

Transitions Mediation Center Director William H. Donahue, Jr., Esq., APM, will contact you and provide the login details for a virtual three-way conversation. Clients can still visit our offices for the initial free half-hour consultation if they wish, or they may do the mediation consultation virtually.

Through the virtual mediation sessions, Donahue will work with you to come to a mutually beneficial agreement that satisfies everyone.

Our task is not to fix blame for the past, but to fix the course for the future.
— John F. Kennedy

Mediation vs Litigation

By its very nature, litigation is adversarial because it requires someone else — a judge — to make decisions for the family or divorcing couple. It forces each party to convince the judge that one side should win and the other should lose.

Mediation is a form of dispute resolution that uses a neutral mediator rather than a judge or arbitrator. A divorce mediator structures and guides negotiations and helps a divorcing couple understand the principles of divorce law and helps them define mutual goals, and then the couple works together to craft agreements that achieve those goals.

A mediated divorce is one that maximizes the benefits and minimizes the losses for both people. With virtual mediation, a mutually beneficial solution can be yours when you work with Transitions Mediation Center. Learn more about our mediation services here.
